Classroom Instructions

  1. Print out your weekly schedule (blank or assigned) each week. Even if you do not use it as a schedule, you can use is as a record of your activities for the day.
  2. Keep a record of your attendance. This may seem unnecessary, but may be important at some later date (record keeping is a skill too.)
  3. Decide what you will cover this homeschool day.
  4. Choose the course room materials and supplies that will support your choices.
  5. If you are following the complete curriculum guide, you will continue to work through the texts and materials until each is completed.
  6. If you are using a more flexible plan you will choose what to use each day.
  7. Each student should be writing a year long story.
  8. Keep records and report forms from each course. Choose two pages from each course each month and save them for building your portfolio. Instructions for portfolios are located on the Planners for Homeschool.
Friday is reserved for the student to pursue his or her own interest, CYOI forms are available on the "start page" under "Important Forms."

In General Students in:

  • 6th—8th Grades will need little supervision and feel pride at their ability to work through their homeschool day and activities on their own. They will still need parents available to answer questions and give praise.

  • 9th—12th Grades will be more independent and need little help or supervision. Responsibility for the student’s education should shift to the student at this point and the student should be encouraged to see a specific purpose for education to give the activity meaning.
